Mt. Hood with a hood

The mountain was given its present name by Lt. William Broughton, a member of Captain George Vancouver's discovery expedition in October, 1792. .He named it after Lord Samuel Hood, a British Admiral at the Battle of the Cheasapeake (wiki), not the often present cloud-hood.
We had a very balmy day; I kept thinking of doing spring stuff outside, but it's not spring yet.
The extra is of a Downy Woodpecker male with his interesting back markings.
