Midwinter Sun

The girls and I opted for an afternoon at the beach today, it was fair glorious out there. I took my kindle and went for the lolling on my beach blanket while the kids made various sculptures and dug themselves to other countries.

They were joined regularly by other kids who'd play nicely with them, and a number of friends came along that we all knew. It was just fabulous.

The sun brought enough warmth to entice a paddle in the sea, which was bracing, but it was warm enough for short sleeves.

Work tomorrow, so the girls are back with my parents.
