Nature or Nurture?

So where does a person's interests come from? It could be argued (he says trying to carefully tiptoe around the subject) that things like handbags and shoes are a 'girl' thing. We have never pushed Emma towards particular toys, but she has, of her own volition, taken towards handbags and shoes. She will happily steal your shoes, and try them on, and walk around in them. She trots around in her shoes, carrying a bag, often with a shoe or two in it.
