A river runs through it
We were warned it would be a rather soggy affair at T in the Park this year but Carolyn, Jo and I were going regardless. It was, after all, The Stone Roses headlining. We also had the luxury of being able to sleep in a warm bed and have a hot shower courtesy of my fab in-laws, who live a stone's throw from the festival. Thanks R&C!
The organisers were telling people they could get a refund on their tickets if they'd prefer, the weather was that bad. We sat in R&C's house drinking wine and putting off the inevitable for as long as we could before heading into the quagmire, but head there we must, so eventually we did.
We negotiated the rivers and ponds to make it to the bar. We negotiated the rivers and ponds to make it to the toilets. We negotiated the rivers and ponds to make it to the tents for shelter. The endurance test seemed to go on forever. We were cold and wet with sore legs from trudging through the mud with very few places to sit down. Never mind, last time we looked at the clock there was only another 4 and a half hours until The Stone Roses were on.
Anyway, despite the moaning, it was great company and we did indeed make it to the end. TSR were a little disappointing in that there were so many great songs they could've played but went for a lot of mediocre ones instead. There were a few classics in there though, so still worth the wait.
So, day one down and a Sunday ticket for more of the same. Question is, will it be used?
