Funds

29th January 2016:

For a tiny organisation, with no bureaucracy and run by volunteers we have a huge impact where we work in Northern Malawi.
About this day each month we pay our employees, 32 of them, our Malawi volunteers get a little and we also have what we call funds. This is all thanks to an amazing bunch of followers we have who donate all the money we need, knowing that 100% of gets straight to our projects.
The pictures show a bit of our range of funds. Two show our Gogo (Grannie fund) being administered by SJOG religious Brother Isaac and Rose our secretary. Grannies in Malawi very often rear their grandchildren after throe own children have died from AIDS, so we help them out. The maid picture shows the grandmother of a girl we send to school, but we have to support her in that she can't walk. She employs help while her granddaughter goes to secondary school. All part of the package for the Girl-Child.
In the last pic we have Rodgers, who is physically and mentally challenged. Mary found him 9 years ago living with dogs add rescued him to find that there was nowhere for him to go. His father wasn't dead, but was addicted to alcohol. Not a full orphan so no organisation would take him. She found two women and one house. He is as good as he ever will be but he's happy. He is here with his new carer Nunie.
Last is Fortunate with mother Catherine. Fortunate has Cystic Fibrosis  and more, is a bright little man and with a lot of assistance can walk. We support both of them, three other boys and sometimes the whole village, BUT we have amazing and caring donors.
These are amazing opportunities we get to work on real lives, up close and very personal, when we are trying to do the big stuff (and save the world!!)
