Political Prisoner Served 10yrs on Robben Island

The trip across a fairly rough sea to Robben Island was rich in wildlife, we spotted a few whales, dolphin, seals and penguins, but the real richness occurred when this man, an ex prisoner held for more than a decade since the age of 19, told his story and experience of being tortured and permanently disabled by abuse endured by secret police at Robben Island and explained the approach and philosophy he learned from a fellow prisoner Nelson Mandela. Shocking and moving, hard to accept his torturers were given an amnesty and are now wealthy and successful business men.
