Taking it in tern to look at the Alps
Woke up to a sunny day in Fox Glacier. From my bed l looked out at Mounts Aoraki (Cook, 3742 metres) and Rarakiora (Tasman 3497 metres), yesterday they could not be seen at all! Also, in the large flax bush next to the window, was a beautiful Tui bird with his lovely white ruff, singing loudly.
M and l went to Lake Matheson and did a circuit of the lake admiring the iconic NZ view of the mountains reflected in the water. Later we went out to the wild Gillespie's beach which is where l took this photo of the terns silhouetted against the Southern Alps. Whilst at the beach saw quite a few dolphins swimming by the shore line
All in all a satisfying day.
