First contact ...
Waited for about an hour on an overcast but warm morning to watch the Olympic torch flash by. For a "49er" Jose was very quick and hopefully enjoyed the experience.
The atmosphere was generally convivial, loads of little 'uns dragged early from their beds slumped open mouthed and sleepy eyed on the kerbs, the ubiquitous muted grumbles about people pushing in, and the one grumble that turned into a shouting match which provided mild "while-we-wait" entertainment for those within earshot.
I was surprised and humbled to see so many people supporting the torch bearers.
