The Best Laid Plans...
Woke up at 6.30 this morning and being a lady of a certain certain age, had to get up to powder my nose ;-))
There seemed to be an unusual amount of light peeking out from behind the window blind so I had to look and discovered a winter wonderland outside and it was still snowing.
It was clear to me that my belated birthday lunch out with my best pal Agnes and our belated Christmas night out with Alan's Support Team were not going to be happening today.
Then I noticed I had goosebumps the size of snowballs on my arms and the room felt very cold. Quick check of the radiator. Cold as ice. The upstairs boiler has been playing up for the past few days and yes, it has finally given up the ghost. Brilliant.
It was at that point I began looking for the hidden cameras as surely all the negative things that have happened over the last few days must be the work of some obscure TV prank show. I half expected an apparition of Jeremy Beadle to appear through the wall!
Back to my cosy bed where I stayed till 11.30am. I just couldn't prize myself from the warmth into the tomb like atmosphere of the bedroom!
But it's not all bad. David bought more logs for the fire, we ate homemade sweet potato, chilli, ginger and coconut soup for lunch. I photographed the lovely tulips D bought me to put a smile on my sour face cheer me up and now the fire is lit, here's a homemade lasagne bubbling in the oven for tea, I have a G&T to hand and we're looking forward to settling down on the sofa later with some great TV.
At the end of the day, life really is good.
Happy Saturday lovelies x
:-)))
