Santo Domingo - Baya

History of the Resistance- great museum about the dictatorship, politics and social movements of the island. Then driving along the coast to reach Bayahibe and Dominicus for afternoon swimming and freshly caught prawns! It was so interesting how many Italians there were here- dominating the economic activity- with hotels, restaurants and tour companies- felt like a colonization! The beach and food here was by far my favourite. By being on the caribbean side of the island the sea was the most incredible colour!
