Christchurch rebuild

Wandered around our unrecognisable city today. To the left is shown an old pre-earthquake haunt - the pink building - Cafe Roma.  Looks very decrepit and it is just boarded up. But behind it is one of the city's new buildings.

The photo on the right is the famous Christchurch Cathedral. Still no decision about its future. There have been court cases etc. Let's hope a decision is made soon so that the heart of the city can be back to a showcase instead of such a mess.  nearly five years since the quake, it is time for change.  My own view is that in a shaky city such as this, old English style stone buildings are not a good idea!
