Went on a day trip to Stratford Upon Avon

Someone [network Rail?] had allowed another charter train to "park" overnight in Stratford's station. Not at platform 3 where it wouldn't have caused any inconvenience but at platform 2. So all the normal Sunday trains had to use platform 3.

We came in on platform 1, so had to wait till 13:00 before the driver's hours allowed him to get the other charter train out of the station back to Crewe.

This allowed our steam engine to be turned round by using platform 2. An example of someone not thinking.
