A First

On Friday we received a text message from friends to say that they had just seen a bittern at the nature reserve.

Despite the weather we decided to pop down there. And yes we were treated to a sighting of said bittern. A lifetime first for me.

We were also treated to a wonderful display from this kingfisher. Alas my photograph of it is not too good.
