Rubbish

This is a very well-made shed for storing various sorts of rubbish. It belongs to University College Boat House.
 
Less than a minute's walk from here, tucked under some trees, is a small tent that a homeless person was sleeping in last year. He must have gone because it's collapsing now. Perhaps he got one of the Oxford Night Shelter’s 61 beds. If so, this shed might be in his sights. On Tuesday this week a protest outside County Hall failed to prevent cuts to local services of £69m – which includes £51m of savings outlined by the council last year as 'a worst case scenario' plus more that it needs to find because of last-minute changes to its funding by the government. As a result the Night Shelter closed down today after 30 years of caring for homeless people in Oxford.
