Scissor Day

No, it's not a national holiday in the UK, just my Favourite Mother in Law finding a load of old scissors that are mucky and blunt.
I gave her a hand and while cleaning one pair with emery paper I uncovered a date of 19(WD)64 (The WD is the War Department arrow which was on all military equipment even the cutlery that was issued to married quarters).

Cleaned up and sharpened she's happy again, although it is doubtful she'll ever use them as they've already been lying in drawers for years!
