Just arriving from Doha

The weather and commitments today mean there was little time for looking for blips

So this shot snatched from a carpark gives me the opportunity to tell you some things about the U.K.s favourite airport. Manchester of course.

It has flights to 225 destinations and is the UKs third busiest after Heathrow and Gatwick.

But did you know that it is owned by the Manchester Airport Group which also owns and runs Stansted, East Midlands and Bournemouth airports. The Group is 35.5% owned by Manchester City Council and 29% owned by the other 9 Greater Manchester Councils. The rest is owned by an Australian Finance Company.

Most important it has it own train station with services to Arnside and several other important cities. It also now has a tram station.

The new £1billion development plan due to start in April will add another 10 million passengers and is the biggest building project ever in Manchester.
