How come you can't buy a jar of spice in a size that's sensible?  So, you end up with lots of jars which have only a few teaspoons out of them.  So, you end up having to find somewhere to put the jars.  So, you end up with them everywhere in the kitchen and end up having to buy a box to put them in.
