Snap Judgement
Today saw the introduction of the controversial "Bus Gates" in Huddersfield town centre. Only buses, hackney carriages and cyclists are allowed through. All other vehicles are snapped by the cameras and the drivers are landed with a fixed-penalty £30 fine.
I saw lots of car drivers who seemed oblivious to the new gates. Others were hastily making 3-point turns or reversing back up one-way streets.
At lunchtime I took a walk up to Greenhead Park where some of the miniature daffodils were in full bloom (see extra).
