Green Mansions

Here at Lake Tarawera , we are surrounded by New Zealand native bush and many folk grow these plants in their gardens too. As we dined on our deck overlooking the lake this evening, we were watching a tui chortling in the branches of this cabbage tree (cordyline) whose seed pods adorn the spent flowerhead.
