Here we go again
It's that time of year again and the camping kettle has been unearthed from the winter emergency box and put back into the campervan.
We have just turned Brunhilde around and bless her, she started first time. The ferry is booked both ways - we can always cancel if any bugs arise. The chief bug at the moment is that, having tested the lights, we have a front indicator out. It's now a question of whether it can be rendered functional without waiting for a new bulb or fuse or bulb holder or whatever to be delivered.
So, if the weather forecast holds and if the light can be fixed, the 2016 season begins with a pootle around Mainland Orkney, an Italian meal and a visit to the cinema.
I need to find my walking boots and clean some camera lenses, charge batteries, defluff the sensor on my Canon...
All of this means that I am now very much occupied for a couple of days, packing the van, baking and cooking and preparing the aforesaid cameras. Oh, and washing the cat.
There won't be much spinning being done, though I did start the big bump spin last night.
Good news on the Broadband connection. The fault reported yesterday has been tracked and identified and has a time to resolution of midnight tonight. It looks as though it is literally a case of water in the works again.
