Carnegie Library, Harrogate

I have been meaning to blip this lovely building for a while, but until recently there has been scaffolding obscuring the front façade.
This evening the spotlights were on again so I grabbed a quick blip on my way past. It is a shame that there has to be netting there to prevent the local population of flying rats (i.e. pigeons) from leaving their mark. I think a slow shutter and tripod might have been more successful for such a night time shot.
The library originally opened in 1906, and reopened in 2010 following a major refurbishment. Sadly, like most libraries in the UK, the services offered here are suffering or are under threat due to funding cuts.
