Scarcely
It was a busy day, including a trip up to the West End office at lunchtime. No one thinks there'll be any good news at another big briefing session tomorrow. And Tweedy and I discovered that a farewell "do" was being organised for us, which I think we'd both have politely declined if we'd been consulted.
When I got off the bus at the Shore I could see the silhouette of a what was probably a goosander diving for food under the Bernard Street bridge, so I nipped across to see if he was visible from the other side. There was scarcely a ripple to be seen.
