Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust
My Uncle Victor passed away Thursday morning. Today was the funeral mass and cremation.
He was a generous man. I'd stay at his place everytime I was in Kuala Lumpur for years. His doors were always open to me, even with the shortest of notice.
Someone, last year, said of him "lucky uncle" that I was staying at his place. I was the lucky one to have such an uncle.
Goodbye, Uncle Victor.
Before us great Death stands
Our fate held close within his quiet hands.
When with proud joy we lift Life’s red wine
To drink deep of the mystic shining cup
And ecstasy through all our being leaps—
Death bows his head and weeps.
“Death,” Rainer Maria Rilke
