Gnarly

I spotted this gnarly tree trunk on my way back from walking the dogs this morning. It's just the other side of our garden fence, in the churchyard. There are a lot of snowdrops out, around the base of the trees, looking smooth and clean and white. Nature is full of contradictions.

A super morning out with my parents, with coffee and a scone in Saffron Walden and a spot of shopping.
