Another daff shot
Robin took me to Cheltenham for my first MRI today. I had the conical 3D bone scan in January but the jaw specialist needed to see the cartlidge as well, hence the MRI. I had been warned about the banging sound and about feeling claustrophobic. I could hear the bangs but with ear plugs in and ear defenders playing music they didn't bother me. A little mirror above my eyes helped me resist any feelings of being closed in. But for the second half of the MRI I had to hold a syringe covered in gauze between my teeth. This was so they could get an image with my jaw open. At this point I did have to really focus on something to stop myself feeling really irritated by the gauze tickling my mouth and saliva issues so I picked coffee and cake and that proved enough of a distraction.
Of course I then had to have coffee and cake as a reward. Job done and I will see the consultant in a week to get the results.
