Aperture priority, shooting wide open!

I am following the on line 'A year with my camera' course which is excellent if you want to learn how to take shots on manual mode. 
I think my favourite thing is using aperture priority and setting the F number to something really low, so the depth of field is minimal and just seeing what happens! 
My Sigma 17 - 70mm is great for this (if a little chunky!) and this shot was taken using it, perfecting my new technique of putting the camera on live view, tilting the viewfinder and hoping for the best!!! Hopefully my knee will be fully recovered soon, and I will be able to lie in the wet grass again to get the shots I desire!
