Giving platelets

Today I donated platelets for the first time. It was pretty painless, and fairly lenthy (80 mins), but very worthwhile. Most of the platelets will go to people with cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy. Next time I go I might even find out which hospital it was used at which is pretty cool. I can go every 2 weeks, but think I'll try and get once a month.
I went to weightwatchers after and have lost 2.5 lbs ( must be heavy platelets!).
