Happy Birthday Papa!

Spent the morning with Colby and his Farm League baseball team at the field in a round robin tournament... boy, wasn't it a hot one too! Thankfully, Mom and Dad purchased a gigantic umbrella that has extension sides - it was a savior. I would've been a raisin if I'd had to sit in the sun all morning. Luckily, the boys were undercover in the dugout and had the opportunity to cool off with water and frozen washcloths. His team won both games and it was fun to watch all the boys playing a sport they love.

Lunch at the Chinese restaurant, then the rest of the day was spent celebrating Papa's birthday. The boys took off on the wheelers to explore the trails in Mercer. We all enjoyed dinner and cupcakes/ice cream. We had hoped that our clever idea of placing Papa's new LLBean jacket in our Dish Network box would throw him off.... Nope, we were no match for his x-ray vision and intuition for gift recognition. He shook this box once and stated with confidence... this is a red, LLBean pullover. I even tried ot "camoflauge" his gift once inside the box by placing our fleece blanket in the box. Dad joked and said "oh, what a nice, soft blanket".... Colby returned with "but, that's MY blanket!".

I hope Papa had a great birthday - we certainly enjoyed our day spent with him!

** Update on my bug bites: Yikes! Beginning to itch, today's tally revealed 16 on my left foot and 18 on my right.
