A slightly odd photo of a broken washer but it represents much more. It's something that I fixed without getting a professional. I have very little confidence when it comes to doing diy. I attempted to fix it but couldn't get one of the bits off.

In the end someone who I wouldn't normally ask offer to come round and help. It was really lovely catching up and also it turned out he needed to feel useful so being able to fix things with a tangible result was good for him too. Sometimes helping itself is helpful.
