"Costly-coloured glass"
“The sun,--the bright sun, that brings back, not light alone, but new life, and hope, and freshness to man--burst upon the crowded city in clear and radiant glory. Through costly-coloured glass and paper-mended window, through cathedral dome and rotten crevice, it shed its equal ray.”
This is for the February Dickens Challenge.
I enjoyed wandering around St Martin's in the Bullring in Birmingham today looking for just that right bit of stained glass. This is what I selected in the end.
This is a small section of detail from one of the side windows. The colours matched my outfit of the day and I really liked the textures contained within the glass.
