Visit to the farm
5th February 2016:
Rose visited the farm today to look at Laston's plans and discuss issues and progress of new employees. Laston is the farm manager; The Boss
Looks like the tangerines, oranges, mango and the rest of the fruit are about to ripen, that they are working on next year's rootstock and all is going well.
Lastons target for January 2017 are as follows:
v Mangoes 10,000
v Citrusses (lemon root stocks) 12,000
v Mexican apples 2,000 ( From Laston’s Village)
v Avocado pears 2,000 (from within Lusangazi area)
v Apples 5,000 (from Ntcheu – required transport)
v Custard apples 1,000 (from Nkhatabay)
v Peaches 3,000 (from our orchard)
v Papaya 2,000 (Bwengu and Nkhatabay –required transport
Note: We want to start planting flowers (onarmental )
This is a huge target for a small organisation, but Laston takes his work very seriously. We will see how he goes
