Gazelle
I passed this lovely Singer Gazelle as I made my way in the rain to the Post Office. By the time the Gazelle was produced Singer's were part of the Rootes Group whose different brands sold re-badged versions of each other's cars. The Gazelle was a variant of the Hillman Minx.
I learned to drive, and passed my test, in a Singer Chamois. They were produced between 1965 and 1970 and bear a striking resemblance to a Hillman Imp. That dates me. The Singer brand name disappeared completely in 1970 following Chrysler's take over of Rootes.
By today's standards the driving test was quite rudimentary. I cannot recall having to negotiate either a roundabout or a set of traffic lights during my test. But winding the window down to perform hand signals now seems archaic.
Edit: the suffix letter "A" denotes that this car would have first been registered in 1963.
