Discarded
This old petrol station/post shop is at Albury, a tiny town between Timaru and Fairlie.
It's typical of a lot of small towns here, where local industries and small businesses have closed down, or moved on to bigger centres.
It's Waitangi Day today, which is a public holiday commemorating the signing of the treaty between representatives of the British Crown and Maori chiefs back in 1840.
Unfortunately, it's more about protesting than celebration, and there's controversy every year about whether the Prime Minister will attend Waitangi or not.
