MEET ANGIE.....
…..or Angelika, which is her proper name. She is a lovely waitress at our favourite Saturday morning coffee stop, The Old Bank, in Wood Street, Swindon.
She is always smiling, and brightens up our day every time we see her. I was on the look-out for a mono shot of a person, and had thought of taking one of our son, as we were meeting him this morning for coffee, but before he arrived, I saw Angie filling the pepper pots, and thought she would look good - and I’m sure you will agree, she does.
I did ask her if filling the pepper pots made her sneeze - as I’m sure I would be sneezing all the time, but she just smiled and said “Sometimes”.
Not the morning to be outside as it was “blowing a hooley”. For those who don’t know this can mean either an Irish evening of traditional music and dance - which it wasn’t - or a strong wind or gale - which it was! Everyone who came in was literally blown in and the rain made matters worse, but there was a good atmosphere inside and Angie’s smile made all the difference.
We are now back home and Mr. HCB is settling in front of the television for an afternoon of sport - a football match between two top clubs and also the Six Nations Rugby - so guess I won’t get much of a look-in for a while.
Life doesn’t come with guarantees.
Just know
that smiling will
brighten your face,
laughter
will brighten your day,
and good people will
make your life great!
Thank you, Angie, for being the sunshine in a grey and dismal day!
