Unbeknownst to us, Zuma had declared an official funeral for Hermanus Gabriel Loots, a stalwart of Umkhonto we Sizwe dating back to the '60's.

We had never heard of him, maybe because he chose to live his life after politics, including four years with Mr Mandela, under the name of James Stuart.

It was quite a spectacle but we were not close enough to get a pic of the full military group that walked with his coffin.

Not something you see every day.
