A Working Bee

The bees were humming well today - I could hear them enjoying the hot sun, hard at work gathering food and pollen

I put another in the extras because I noticed the bee was feeding through a small hole in the side of the flower. I am wondering if the bee made that hole or is just taking advantage of it. The flower is an unusual type of dahlia, I think, growing in the Pethybridge Gardens. The petals are very sparse, but the bees love it..
