The Meadow by the Castle, Walmer
I've always liked this meadow which looks like it hasn't been ploughed for years and years. I stopped on my way over from seeing John, who'd been calling for me most of the night, apparently. The meadow is next to Walmer Castle, the seat of the Lord Warden of the Kent Cinque ('sink') Towns.
After Wales drew with Ireland in a gruelling match Brian O'Driscoll said of Johnny Sexton as on a replay he berated the ref from the foot of a ruck,
'If you're born round like him you don't die square'
which I 'd not heard before.
There's an extra of the Swedish Reefer (sounds like an exotic drug) riding on one anchor in the Deal Roads waiting for the gales to drop enough to slip into Dover port with bananas.
