Tolly's Folly

In the thirties, the  Tolly Cobbold  Breweries constructed a series of massive suburban pubs which became known as the Tolly's Follies. This local example is 'The Golden Hind' in Milton Road, Cambridge. Although it has been altered inside, some of the opulent interior remains. A similar pub was built in Ipswich but was drastically altered by 'Pubmaster' Some say vandalised. It is the home of Cambridge Folk Club which I haven't visited  but I have been to other functions there. Recently the pub was raided by masked men who stole £3,000. Luckily nobody was seriously hurt and I don't know if the men were caught. I rather like the clock tower and the chimney pots on this building.
