Presence is the real present

Sometimes it seems friends know me better than I know myself. Testament to this statement is the choice of theme of birthday cards and presents I've received the past couple of days.

From pretty pink gifts in cute gift bags to Prosecco and perfume, books, candles and chocolate mixed with an assortment of themed cards from aviation to vintage fashion...all the things that make me smile.

But most of all it's the presence of friends that make my heart truly sing, not the presents they bring (as nice as they are). For some it's friendship from a far but their presence is still very much felt with their regular calls and messages.

Love and laughter wrapped up in friendships that will last a lifetime made for lovely memories this weekend.
