A Doll's House

In Ibsen's A Doll's House, Nora is addicted to macaroons, and I never really understood the first few times I read / saw the play. I was clearly an idiot. This beauty is an orange one, and it was rapidly followed by pistachio, salted caramel, lemon, coconut and fig (a new taste for me--and a good one).

Lounging and loafing and eating and reading. I'm about 500 pages into Eleanor Catton's The Luminaries, and I've been reading the thing for weeks and weeks. Only 350 pages to go! It's very good.

Happy Birthday to P.
