Birthday Party

Kids' Birthday parties aren’t the same today.   Fiona had a family party on her 6th birthdayhere Jan 29 but today's party  was for her friends  at a sports arena with a section of those big blowup things you can jump and slide on and in.   And there’s a special room for the kids to have food and gifts etc.   When my boys went to a birthday party oh so long ago, we parents were very happy to drop them off and go do something with our little bit of free time.   Now the parents all stick around and watch, and chat.    I don’t get it.   The kids had a great time tho —I hope they all got tired.  The blip is Fiona with her sister Tatum and her sister’s best friend who are 12, the age limit for playing here..I think they had every bit as much fun as the 6 year olds.   A few more in the extras, including Rexie, Fiona’s Tyranosaurus Rex all dressed for the party with his new tuxedo. A full day for us which included a lovely row this morning…  and I even watched the halftime show of the Superbowl—it’s amazing to me what passes for entertainment sometimes…  did enjoy the tributes to some of the past artists that I actually recognized!
