Winning in the rain!!

The first day of the Great Yorkshire show went ahead today, even after all the heavy and persistent rain. The organisers tried their best to keep things going ahead....all the competitors had put in so much time and effort into preparing their animals for the event. Todays blip is for all those who put in the hard work and made it to the show ground. Here is the winner of the under 3 (years old) heavy horse class.....and what a stunner he was!! I wanted to take him home! :o)

Just heard that at 6.30pm this evening the organisers have had to make the decision to cancel the next two days of the 154th Great Yorkshire Show due to the heavy rain that has fallen this afternoon, the state of the fields on which cars were parked today have turned into a quagmire, with vehicles getting stuck and needing towing out. More rain is forecast for tomorrow!!
