Well, he loved the rockmelon (cantaloupe) I gave him.

You know it's hot when the reptiles slide into the cooler porch to escape the heat. If you look carefully you can see his blue/black tongue. These are called blue tongues, bobtail goannas in the west, shinglebacks in the east. They are actually skinks and you may read about them here if you are interested :)
A stinker in Perth today - 42 point something - who cares when it's over 40!! 
We drove through another enormous bushfire on the way home, not far from the one I wrote about a few weeks ago. Poor buggers. 42 is forecast again for tomorrow :(
