Jacqui's World

Ted's Famous Friends!

We went to Lancaster this afternoon to visit my stepson and three of the grand-children.

Dalton Square is a very interesting place. It is in front of the Town Hall.
The Victoria Monument was given to the town by Lord Ashton in 1907. It was originally intended for Williamson Park. The sculptor was Herbert Hampton. Queen Victoria and four lions are in bronze.

This blip is of one of the panels underneath Victoria's statue and depicts well know people from the Victorian era like Watts, Ruskin, Darwin and Shaftesbury.
