MonoMonday : : Transitions
The buds on the oleander bush were bursting with seeds and seemed a perfect subject for the challenge…transitions. However, there were a few setbacks….
The daffodils, which have just burst into bloom underneath the oak trees, are just too cheerful against the cloudless blue sky to be converted into mono.
These seed pods are beige in color and though they look good in color, there isn't much contrast when they are converted to mono,.. I was trying to photograph them against their natural background but that only made things worse….
Although the current weather can only be described as spring- perhaps even summer like, I feel certain that our wintry El Niño will be returning, so it's hard to say what kind of transition it really is.
The daffodils will probably hang in there just long enough to be bashed into the ground by the returning rains….as well as the tulip trees whose purple blossoms look splendid against the cloudless blue sky….
It all seems like some cruel joke, but the weather actually takes a turn like this just about every year in February….
I just hope…even though I would love to have this balmy weather continue …that the El Niño rains will return.. We need them.
