Brush holder seen from overhead crane

At unit EC 6 we had some trouble with one of the exhaust fans on the lube oil tank. These fans maintain a partial vacuum in the returnpipes of the lubricatingoilsystem; so the oil stays in the system. On saturday we discovered an oilmist near the bearings around the generator and some investigation, done by the shift that relieved us, learned that one fan did not work properly.
The oilmist deposited also on the brusholder near the generator and that was not so good...The brushes are part of the excitation system to control the output of the generator to say it in a popular way), and electricity and oil-polluted dust are not a good combination.
So: while the unit was not needed we have the time to clean everything.

It gave me the opportunity to take a look from high above....
