Dad's Army

I took my Dad to see the Dad's Army film today. Having got over the shocking misplacement of the apostrophe (which seems to date back to the original TV series) we both enjoyed the film, up to a point. It was not at all the same as the TV series.  The plot was more akin to many light-hearted, feel-good war films of the 1940s.  Most of the performances, although from a stellar cast, were not better than their TV equivalents. But the women characters - all more prominent than in the TV version - were strong and well-played.

The image for today has nothing whatsoever to do with the film but was part of an advert in the cafe for Zoolander 2.
