Long Low Waves
6.7C bright and sunny. More cloud than yesterday. Light West North Westerly breeze.
A quick trip to the recycle centre this morning with a plastic crate of magazines, then back home.
Then I was busy in the house until lunch time.
Maeve the Deerhound and I went for a walk after lunch. I needed a long walk to clear my head. Runrig on the Nano (all the albums on shuffle). We went up to the church then continued out along the country road to Scryne. There was some ploughing going on in the distance near the A92, and nearer Scryne some farm workers were building what I take to be rows and rows of polytunnels for soft fruit in a field by the side of the road just beyond Craigmill farm.
When we reached Scryne we turned right and went down the road to Easthaven. We went under the railway line (at Easthaven the railway runs along an embankment) and walked out onto the beach. The tide was almost fully in. The sea was as blue as it was yesterday, with patches and shapes of dark and light caused by the clouds and the clear sky. There were two or three other dog walkers scattered along the beach. We stayed a while down on the beach watching the long low waves run in and break on the very edge of the sand.
We came back along the cycle path and round in a long loop, heading into Carnoustie then up the main road before turning along for home. Maeve was soon fast asleep.
