Great big mud puddles.
This started out as a fun thing after Tilda and Bea and I got breakfast. Bea fell asleep, so Tilda and I went to the park and splashed in the enormous puddles that were great big ice blocks the weekend before.
The mud got very deep in one part so we were squashing around. I turned around to wash the mud off my boots, then looked back just in time to see that Tilda had become completely stuck past her ankles and was falling over into the deep, freezing water while she struggled to free her feet...
I stripped her down as much as I could and put my mitt on her soaked foot as a makeshift shoe. I wrapped one of Bea's extra blankets around her waist and got her to piggy-back me while I pushed Bea in the stroller. We crossed the park and went up the very steep hill part of the way, then I had to get her to walk the rest of the way up... AH! I managed to piggyback her all the way home, all the while keeping things funny and light so she wouldn't freak out. Thankfully Bea never woke up :)
Tilda's response when we got home: "I don't think it's a good idea to go in mud puddles Mumma." I wholeheartedly disagree. Adventure is good!
