All's Well That Ends Well

We had a delightful impromptu supper this evening with our friends C and A, each couple contributing parts of the meal, which was at our house.

The reason it was at our house becomes clear if you take a look at Phil's blip for today. The morning whizzed by as we took care of that situation, followed by a comforting latte (Phil) and milky chai (me) and treats at the co-op bakery/coffee shop, where I took today's blip. (In retrospect, I wish I'd had one of those raspberry-filled bleeding hearts in the extra photos...)

Phil was able to drive himself home, so I went off to collect a prescription for him, delivering it before heading off to an appointment and the library. Home again, I helped him with his eye drops and dealt with some fresh fruits and vegetables that had been delivered.

Our friend C texted me about the possibility of getting together this evening, and between us, we decided to meet at our house for a collaborative supper, each couple contributing parts of it. The focus was on tasting some of Phil's extensive beer collection, but we also made our way through the excellent soups and large baguette that C and A brought, as well as two kinds of butter and cheeses, a large salad, and a sampling from our ubiquitous collection of chocolate. 

The conversation topics included travel plans, books, our families, the sad state of American politics, our childhoods, Blipfoto, and much more, and the laughter flowed freely, as did the beer.

It was a lovely way to end a rather unusual day!
